Leontyne D. Brown

Leontyne is an award-winning marketing executive with a proven track record of achievement in Strategic Marketing & Communications, National Advertising, and Public Relations for many of the world’s most recognizable brands, including Coca Cola, Sprite®, Adidas©, AT&T, General Mills, Bacardi USA, 3M Corporation, Toyota USA, and Brand Jordan, Nike’s flagship brand centered on NBA legend, Michael Jordan.

While serving as the National Advertising Director for Brand Jordan, Leontyne oversaw all national advertising, brand development, and all integrated marketing campaigns – helping the business to more than double its revenue and put the brand on track to become a $1 billion entity.  Her key accomplishments while at Nike included successfully launching the signature shoes of NBA superstar Carmelo Anthony, the Jordan/Melo M2, M3, and M4.  Leontyne also spearheaded the launch of the highly anticipated Jordan Lifestyle Apparel Line, which resulted in a first week sell-thru of over $5.7M in sales, as well executed all advertising and marketing communications for the 20th Anniversary of the Air Jordan franchise. She was also responsible for awarding over $1.5M in national sponsorships, grants, and in-kind donations to various local and national charities.

In 2008, after her father suffered from a debilitating stroke, Leontyne made the difficult choice to relocate to West Palm Beach to assist with his care. After a short break, she decided to return to work, but instead of as an employee, she returned as an owner.  She founded salt513, a boutique advertising and communications agency, with an impressive roster of clients including Nike, Coca-Cola, The Orlando Magic, AT&T and its most recent clients, Ralph Lauren and Porsche.

Over the span of her 12-year career, Leontyne has received a number of awards and accolades, including two Effie Awards, the American Advertising Federation Award, the Multicultural Excellence Award from the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), the 2010 Florida A&M Distinguished Alumni Award, and a 2011 Legacy Magazine 40 Under 40 Honoree.

As she makes West Palm Beach her home, Leontyne has become more and more involved in the community.  She is active in a number of organizations, including Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Urban League Young Professionals of Palm Beach County, and Women for Obama.  She is also an active member of Carefree Ministries.
